Start with a visual application

Visual Python Studio combines a drag-and-drop desktop designer with actual Python code. The goal is to make a visual application's layout and its behavior part of one development workflow.

01

Open the IDE and choose a project

Start from a new or existing PythonStudio project. Keep the project source in a folder you control, and use a small sample while learning the workspace.

02

Work in the visual designer

Place a form and common controls, then explore the properties that define their size, labels, layout and behavior.

03

Connect actions to Python

Use a button or other interactive control to explore how UI events relate to Python handler code. Prefer the examples supplied with the same IDE version.

04

Run and inspect

Run the application, check the output and debug any mistakes. Repeat the edit–run cycle before trying to distribute the project.

05

Publish after verification

When the application works, use the publisher for a Windows build and inspect the distributed output separately from the development environment.

Understand the workspace

Designer

Arrange controls visually.

Editor

Write and inspect Python.

Toolbox

Discover the controls and components available in this build.

Run / debug

Test real behavior and investigate errors.

Before copying code

Code written for a different SDK or release may use different names. Public copy-ready samples will be labeled with the software version they were tested with.

Documentation status

This material explains the workflow and current development direction. Exact menu labels, Python APIs and compatibility details will be checked against the public release and identified by version.
